Actually, I started to apply my LLP for week 6 and in this week I focused on reading skill. On the first day of week 6 I went to the library to borrow a book or a high level of adult’s stories but I decided to borrow a children story. I started looking in the library for this kind of stories. Finally, I saw this story which called “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”. The story was about a Halloween town and the things that people like to do at Halloween but there is a turning point when the Halloween guy felt bored and decided to make changes at his town. I was very comfortable and exciting about this story. I decided to read the story to my cousins, nephews, and my own brothers. At the beginning I was afraid that they will feel bored and will leave the room. However, they liked the story and they asked me to bring more stories. They felt sleepy at the beginning of reading the story but then I used my voice by adding sounds effects and it was funny for me because I used some scary sounds in some scary situations. I learned how to read faster than before, in the past I read a story for four hours but this time I read it for two hours which helped me in my speed reading. I was satisfied at the choice I made for this story and I will do it again at the next several weeks.
The second thing I did on reading was visiting a newspaper website which is The New York Times and this is the link of the website http://www.nytimes.com/ . Before beginning reading I was exciting because this is the first time I read an English news using website. And it was very unique thing to do because usually I read from a newspaper. However, I read some articles such as, the disease H1N1 and how can we protect our self and the situations in Iraq which was very boring for me. Also, not all articles were written in simple words that might help me to understand what they are talking about and they just write a part of the original article. At least there was a special article which was talking about my country which is UAE and I felt very happy because that article represents my country in a very great way. I did not learn that much from this strategy because I had difficulty to understand some words.
In future I hope I will read more and more to expand and improve myself in reading. Week 6 was little bit exciting and little bit boring. The exciting part was reading a story to my cousins, nephews, and my own brothers, however, the boring part was reading the newspaper using website and I think I might never do it again.

Nice entry. You've expressed yourself very clearly; I found the part about reading to the children in your family really interesting. As far as reading the newspaper online, I'd like to see more explanation of what exactly didn't work. I can also tell you that you picked one of the top English-language newspapers in the world - and one of the most difficult. A lot of people would have trouble reading the New York Times, so don't feel bad because it wasn't easy for you!
