This week is the third week for applying my LLP, and the last two weeks were very challenging and interesting at the same time. I feel that I have improved during doing the LLJ in the last two weeks. Also, I hope I will still improving and developing my English skills. This week I focused on writing and speaking. The first thing I did was going to the Learning Support Center and asked for an appointment for writing. Then, I went to the learning support center and I was stressed and afraid at the same time that I might have plenty of mistakes. However, I went there and I met one of the college teachers and he was very kind to me in the way how he wrote the comments. There were some comments that the teacher wrote in my paper such as, I have problem with grammar and I have problem with not using many conjunctions in my essay. He told me that I must focus in tenses. And for conjunction, I should read essays that have been written with appropriate conjunctions to help me to use them in every essay which I will write in the future. Furthermore, I went to Google and searched for an essay that contains conjunction and I saw an interesting websites that talk about how to write a good essay .Moreover, I found a part that talks about types of conjunctions and this is the link of the website www.howtowriteessay.net. I learned some new conjunctions that might help me in the final exam this semester such as nor, yet, but and so. I practiced some conjunctions by writing a short paragraph with many conjunctions. Also, It was easy to use conjunctions in some sentences such as but and or. Yet, it was difficult to use conjunction in some sentences such as so and yet. As far as I am improving in writing, now I think I know how to put some conjunctions in my own essays in the future.
The speaking part was very unique this time. First, I was going to the learning support center to have an appointment for speaking but before going to the center, I met my teacher Melanie and we had a nice conversation at least for 10 minutes. We talked about college and what is the differences between foundation year and B.Ed year and this time, it was different from the last time I spoke with my friend. I was very comfortable with my teacher and my friend. However, with my teacher I was very relaxing in the way how I spoke because I knew her from the foundation year and I she teaches me in B.Ed this year. I noticed that I had a little bit grammar mistakes but those grammar mistakes are not that much in the way that would change the meaning of what I want to explain to my teacher. Last but not least, I should focus on writing and speaking more and more to improve myself. So far I think I have improved from the first time I wrote the journal.

Nice job. I’m glad you found a website that was helpful to you with using coordinating conjunctions. Could you share the URL? Thanks. By the way, I wouldn’t worry too much about using “yet” in writing; it’s not that common, and there are other transitions (coordinators and subordinators) that you would better spend your time working on. -Julie
